Our Stance on Net Neutrality
A heated debate has been raging for quite some time and tomorrow the FCC is expected to vote on “net neutrality”. While we are for reducing the cumbersome and costly regulatory burdens in place of having Internet a Title II service, we at Bascom Communications agree that consumers should have unfettered access to content on the Internet and your privacy should be protected by ISPs. We want to remind our customers:
• Our company doesn’t block or throttle consumer access to lawful Internet content;
• Our company doesn’t use consumer data without consent for marketing and resell it to third parties;
• Our company doesn’t engage in unlawful or anticompetitive discrimination against websites, streaming video services, and voice applications that may compete with any traditional services we offer and we don’t offer pay-for-priority services; and
• Our company INVESTS in our networks to give our consumers the internet speed, capacity and services they want most.
We will continue to practice these no matter the outcome of a potential vote and will always look to do what is best for all of our customers.
